Lois Rachel Moore
Lois Moore, R.N., B.S., M.S., MPH, now lives in Madison, Indiana, where she moved after retiring on June 27, 2024 — just three days before marrying Bill Starr. Her husband Marvin Moore passed away on September 29, 2023, but Lois believes life doesn’t have to end when a loved one dies. Even at 85 years old, she found love again, sold her home in Nampa, Idaho, and moved to a house built by her new husband for his own bachelor retirement. God, however, had other plans — and today they are “living happily ever after” in Bill’s cozy one-bedroom house which they have made into a warm, loving home together.
She shares their home with a kitten, Bootsie, and an old dog, Tommy, whom you will meet in this book.
Lois lived in Indonesia for 5 years and in Korea for 3½ years, and also ministered in India and Nepal on short mission trips each year for 8 years. Active in her church as an elder, she volunteers at the food and clothing bank sponsored by her church. She is passionate about helping others develop a personal relationship with Jesus through Bible study and prayer, and she participates in three groups that strengthen personal spiritual growth.
Gardening, cooking, hiking, and reading continue to fill up her busy days.
She has co-authored two books and proofread many others written by her late husband. Living with an author has, apparently, “rubbed off” — leading to this: her first solo book.
